Story Behind Odinbrook
After three decades in the investment banking and financial services industry, Odinbrook founder Steven Strom wanted to take his vast experience and collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to the highest possible levels. He started Odinbrook, named in part for a mythological figure revered for his relentless quest for wisdom, and in part to pay homage to the Swedish translation of his last name.
According to legend, the Norse god Odin was so tenacious in his pursuit of knowledge that he plucked out one of his eyes as a sacrifice for wisdom. His two ravens, named Hugin and Munin (meaning “thought” and “mind,” respectively), were his eyes and ears. They’d fly around the world each morning to collect information and insights, which they whispered to Odin while sitting on his shoulders.
Ravens are also known to be extremely intellectual creatures. Further, they’re harbingers of impending transition and transformation. It’s said that when a raven flies into your life, it’s time to probe deeply and look within to seek answers and effectuate change.
